Devon Thai Massage
Massage helps to balance and align the body to encourage space and mobility in the joints, tendons and ligaments and improve the function in the internal organs. It is highly effective at addressing and releasing pain and injury, bad postural patterns and physical and emotional blockages. First visits will include a consultation to establish the medical background and the client’s specific needs.
The Practice rooms remain open and have increased their cleaning protocol and are applying rigorous safety measures. It continues to be a place of extreme tranquility and calm.
Thai Massage is a fantastic, dynamic body workout. The combination of gentle rocking, applied stretching, rhythmic acupressure along ‘sen’ and focused breath work encourages better circulation, opening and releasing tight muscles and letting go of congestion and adhesions in the connective tissues and joints. Highly effective for problems ranging from sports related injuries, postural alignment to sleeping issues and digestive problems. It is performed on a futon mattress, wearing loosely fitting comfortable clothes.
Connective Tissue massage is performed on a massage bed using balm / wax and uses a variety of massage techniques, ranging from long smooth strokes to more localised friction, fascial and trigger point techniques. This helps the release of tension deep in the tissue and helps release pain patterns through the fascial connective tissues of tight tired and overworked muscles and ligaments. Deep Tissue Massage increases blood flow to the muscles and stimulates the lymphatic system, aiding the removal of toxins. It is incredibly effective in treating specific injuries, muscle aches, joint pain, stress and stress related health problems.
During pregnancy, the woman’s body alters dramatically, causing new stresses and discomforts on her joints, muscles and inner organs. The therapeutic touch of massage during this time significantly supports and nurtures these changes. This wonderfully vitalizing massage, based on traditional Thai massage techniques, is performed with the woman lying predominantly in side position, clothed, on a futon mat. The gentle routine is aimed specifically at helping to relieve the musculoskeletal strain and hormonal stresses of pregnancy on the mother’s body and ultimately encouraging and enabling mother (and baby) to truly relax, unwind and re-energise.
Thai herbal compress offers an invigorating & profoundly relaxing effect on the muscles and the joints. The herbal compresses are a blend of stimulating & therapeutic traditional Thai herbs, Ginger, Camphor, Galangal, Turmeric, Eucalyptus & Lemongrass. These healing, medicinal herbs are anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant, antiseptic and very effective for alleviating chronic stress, muscular and joint pain and tension.

I found the course to be fulfilling on both a personal and professional level. The learning techniques and approach used by Emma, make for a relaxed and grounded environment which encourages an innate understanding of the techniques used in this discipline. I thoroughly enjoyed the tutorial weekends and look forward to broadening my knowledge through my future practice and training sessions.
